Briane has an M.S. degree and expertise in nature play, early childhood education, and water resources.

She started her first story in 4th grade and fully recognizes that it was loose fanfiction of Tamora Pierce's The Song of the Lioness series. In 8th grade, Briane attempted obvious fanfiction of a series she can no longer support. Her writing journey came full circle when she dove into Star Wars fanfiction during the 2020 lockdown. From that deep well of inspiration, she began sculpting original work that explores darkness, identity, healing, and queer love.

She lives in the Texas Hill Country where she takes care of a human/gremlin, two dogs, three cats, and a bushel of chickens. And she really misses the water that once nourished this landscape.

Briane donates a portion of her profits to supporting the Palestinian people and anti-colonialism efforts around the world.
